DANVILLE, IL – Today, Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02) congratulated the City of Danville, awarded a $222,608 Assistance to Firefighters Grant by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program helps firefighters, and other first responders, obtain much-needed resources to protect their communities from fire and fire-related hazards.

Congresswoman Kelly’s Congressional district has included Danville since January 2023.

WASHINGTON, D.CToday, Reps. Robin Kelly and Mike Simpson introduced the bipartisan Action for Dental Health Act for reauthorization. The legislation is co-authored by Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust Chair, Congresswoman Robin Kelly (D-IL), and Congressman and dentist Mike Simpson (R-ID). The bill was overwhelmingly approved by the House and signed into law in 2018 and is due for reauthorization this year.

The NIH Clinical Trial Diversity Act builds upon the NIH’s current policies to enhance the inclusion of women, racially and ethnically diverse individuals and people of all ages in all NIH-funded trials.

SPRINGFIELD, IL Today, the Illinois State Senate passed a measure to require the Illinois Department of Transportation to begin the process of engaging private developers with interest in building a cargo airport in the south suburbs, a significant step forward in the effort to build a cargo hub in the area. This legislation passed with bipartisan support in the Illinois House and Senate and now goes to the Governor’s desk for signature.
