Congresswoman Robin Kelly (D-IL) has been tapped to serve on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs for the 114th Congress.

Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02) has been tapped to serve as a vice-chair of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force in the 114th Congress.

Kelly has been a staunch advocate for gun violence prevention since joining Congress in 2013. Last year, she released the 2014 Kelly Report on Gun Violence, the first ever Congressional analysis of the nation's gun violence epidemic.

Congresswoman Robin Kelly announced today that Flossmoor resident Jay Readey has been chosen as a Presidential Leadership Scholar.

Readey, executive director of the Chicago Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, was one of only 60 people selected from a field of 900 candidates nationwide to participate in the program.

The CBC Health Braintrust is the Congressional Black Caucus' principal health care advisory task force. As Chair, Kelly will be responsible for advancing the Caucus' health priorities, which include protecting health equity and reducing health disparities in all communities.

Nearly 40 years after her own graduation from Bradley University, Congresswoman Robin Kelly returned to her alma mater on Saturday as keynote speaker at the school's winter commencement ceremony.

Congresswoman Robin Kelly announced today that a total of $14.2 million in federal grants were awarded in 2014 to municipalities, public safety departments, health and housing agencies and schools within the 2nd Congressional District.

A total of 53 grants were awarded and provided funding for a variety of community needs, including purchasing critical equipment and training for local firefighters, expanding health and housing services, making street improvements and supporting physical education and arts programs.

Representatives with Nucor Steel, Best Diamond Plastics, Whiting Corporation, Gelita, Solvay Inc., Avatar Corporation and Landauer were also present at the roundtable.
