Chicago, IL – Today, Congresswoman Robin Kelly announced that Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot would attend the State of the Union address as her guest.

Elected in April 2019, Mayor Lightfoot was sworn in as the 56th Mayor of Chicago in May 2019. Her election made history as she became the first African American woman, first openly LGBTQ person and only the second woman to lead the nation's 3rd largest city.

Last year, Congresswoman Kelly was joined by then-State Senator Kwame Raoul, the current Attorney General of Illinois.

Experts will be on hand to inform constituents about major changes to the upcoming 2020 Census, including paperless surveys that may be completed online or via mobile phone.
