Congresswoman Robin Kelly will host a Black Women and Girls forum to address the epidemic of missing women and girls in the Chicago area.

The free interactive forum, "My Sister's Keeper," will take place Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chicagoland Christian Center (929 E. 103rd Street, Chicago).

Co-chaired and co-founded by Congresswoman Kelly, the Congressional Caucus on Black Women and Girls specifically addresses the needs of black women and girls, their families and their communities.

Congresswoman Robin Kelly invites the public to a Census 2020 Community Briefing on Thursday, March 12, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Quarry Event Center, 2423 E. 75th St., Chicago.

Experts will be on hand to inform constituents about major changes to the upcoming 2020 Census, including paperless surveys that may be completed online or via mobile phone. Special guests include Cook County Commissioner Stanley Moore, Chicago 5th Ward Alderman Leslie Hairston and 7th Ward Alderman Greg Mitchell.

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Robin Kelly, a member of the Oversight National Security subcommittee, introduced the National Security Transparency Act. This legislation would require senior national security leaders serving in an ‘acting' capacity to regularly appear before Congress to ensure appropriate oversight on these critical departments.

U.S. Representative Robin Kelly is sponsoring a 2020 Congressional Art Competition open to high school students residing or attending a school within the Second Congressional District.

The winner will have the opportunity to attend a ceremony this summer in Washington D.C., where his or her artwork will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for one year. The artwork of second- and third-place winners will be displayed in Rep. Kelly's district offices.

Washington, D.C. – On Friday, Members of the Illinois delegation wrote to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services endorsing the state's waiver request to expand care access to new moms for the entire postpartum period.

In endorsing the waiver request, they wrote: "Illinois' waiver request demonstrates innovative solutions to the maternal mortality crisis and embodies the intent of Congress in creating the Medicaid program to provide medical assistance to our nation's most vulnerable populations."

Chicago, IL – Today, Congresswoman Robin Kelly announced that Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot would attend the State of the Union address as her guest.

Elected in April 2019, Mayor Lightfoot was sworn in as the 56th Mayor of Chicago in May 2019. Her election made history as she became the first African American woman, first openly LGBTQ person and only the second woman to lead the nation's 3rd largest city.

Last year, Congresswoman Kelly was joined by then-State Senator Kwame Raoul, the current Attorney General of Illinois.

Congresswoman Robin Kelly has nominated high school students from the 2nd Congressional District for admission to the three United States military academies.
