Chicago, IL – Today, Congresswoman Robin Kelly hosted a Congressional Caucus on Black Women and Girls Symposium at Chicago State University to spotlight the occasion of Black Women's Equal Pay Day.

"Equal pay is really a matter of economic security, for our families and entire nation," Congresswoman Kelly said. "Not only does the wage gap hurt women and their immediate families and communities, it hurts the overall economy by depressing the buying power of black families."

The inquiry's findings will contribute to larger federal reporting and fact-finding efforts to craft a national response to America's shocking and growing maternal morality rate.

Matteson, IL—Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL02) announced today that the Museum of Science and Industry has been awarded a second federal grant for STEM learning. The $98,157 grant will research and identify best practices used by STEM-centered schools to promote STEM equity and diversity.

Last week, the museum received a $1.2 million federal grant that will allow the museum to directly connect students with specific field trip experiences linked to STEM careers.
