WASHINGTON – The Trump administration froze $10 billion in federal funds for social services across five states, all led by Democratic governors, including $1 billion for Illinois. U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (IL-02) condemned this decision, which will hurt thousands of children and families.
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (IL-02) condemned House Republicans’ $880 billion budget cut to Medicaid alongside U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), U.S. Rep. Jonathan Jackson (IL-01), healthcare providers and community members at Roseland Community Hospital (RCH).
Cuts to Medicaid would force RCH to consider layoffs, service line cuts and even closure. Many of the hospital’s patients also rely on Medicaid, similar to over 300,000 people in Illinois’ Second District.

Yvette Clarke (NY-11), Rashida Tlaib (MI-12), and Jennifer McClellan (VA-04). Black Maternal Health Week, from April 11 to 17, marks a time to raise awareness to the fact that Black women face higher risks of maternal death, stillbirths, preterm births and pregnancy-related complications.

“Today, we remember George Floyd, whose life was cut short five years ago when he was unjustly suffocated and murdered by a police officer in Minneapolis. I’m thinking of George’s family who will never hear him laugh again or receive another hug from him. We must follow through on the Floyd family’s demands to pass real, comprehensive reform to policing and prevent more families from experiencing the same pain.
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (IL-02) formally introduced articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. So far, 70 Members of Congress have cosponsored Rep. Kelly’s impeachment resolution.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (IL-02) introduced a bill addressing safety concerns with electric vehicle doors, including Tesla’s doors that have trapped people in their own cars. At least 15 people have died in car crashes due to Tesla doors not opening.
