U.S. Rep. Kelly Applauds MPO Members for Supporting Illiana Expressway
U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly applauded members of the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for today’s affirmative vote in support of the Illiana Expressway, a 47-mile expressway connecting I-55 in Illinois to I-65 in Indiana.

In a joint letter, Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-2), Congressman Adam Kinzinger (IL-16) and Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) today urged the members of the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) to include the Illiana Expressway in the GO TO 2040 plan.
In the letter, the Representatives urge members to support the inclusion of the Illiana, saying:
SOUTH HOLLAND- More than 1,500 people so far have attended the first annual Second Congressional District Job Fair hosted by Congresswoman Robin Kelly at South Suburban College in South Holland.
More than 50 employers are on hand to interview job-seekers for a variety of open positions in an array of industries, including banking, healthcare, retail, government and transportation. Participating employers included BMO Harris Bank, Metra, Prudential, CSX Railroads and Comcast.
CHICAGO, IL– Congresswoman Robin Kelly today donated nearly 80 books to Douglas Taylor Elementary School on Chicago’s South Side as part of the Library of Congress Surplus Book Program.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Robin Kelly successfully voted today to protect more than 2 million Illinois residents who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) from a proposed $20 billion in cuts to the program, the nation’s most important anti-hunger initiative. The cuts were included in H.R. 1947, the Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management Act of 2013, or Farm Bill.
