By now, you’ve all heard of the terrible shooting that took place on Sunday during the Mother’s Day parade in New Orleans. Like all Americans, I was saddened to once again see a joyous public event marred by gun violence.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (D-IL) and U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) announced today the awarding of a $332,000 federal grant to the Bradley Fire Department in Bradley, Illinois. The funding, provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), will go toward the purchase of new vehicles and will help support and improve the capability of the department to respond to fires and other types of emergencies.
