DANVILLE, IL – Today, Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02) congratulated the City of Danville, awarded a $222,608 Assistance to Firefighters Grant by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program helps firefighters, and other first responders, obtain much-needed resources to protect their communities from fire and fire-related hazards.

Congresswoman Kelly’s Congressional district has included Danville since January 2023.

Funding for the federal government expires on September 30. I am united with President Biden, House Democrats, and a bipartisan group of Senators to avoid a government shutdown and keep critical services and programs up and running for families in our communities.

My office has been selected to participate in the Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program. As a result, we are seeking eligible applicants for a two-year paid position as a district representative who will attend local meetings and events on my behalf and act as a facilitator between constituents and federal, state, and local agencies. The program was established to create employment opportunities for Veterans, Gold Star families, and Active-Duty Spouses within the U.S. House of Representatives.
