Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02) has been tapped to serve as a vice-chair of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force in the 114th Congress.

Kelly has been a staunch advocate for gun violence prevention since joining Congress in 2013. Last year, she released the 2014 Kelly Report on Gun Violence, the first ever Congressional analysis of the nation's gun violence epidemic.

Congresswoman Robin Kelly announced today that Flossmoor resident Jay Readey has been chosen as a Presidential Leadership Scholar.

Readey, executive director of the Chicago Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, was one of only 60 people selected from a field of 900 candidates nationwide to participate in the program.
