Washington, DC – Congresswoman Robin Kelly, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, released this statement following House passage of Protecting Girls Access to Education Act (H.R. 2408):
"I'm extremely excited to have our bill approved by the U.S. House. Together, Congressman Steve Chabot and I were able to craft a common sense, bipartisan bill that helps ensure that every girl has an opportunity to go to school and learn, no matter her current circumstance.
HERSCHER, Ill. – Today, Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02) attended the unveiling of a state-of-the-art electric school bus barn for Herscher Community Unit School District No. 2 (CUSD No. 2). This project stands as the largest electric school bus deployment effort in Illinois to date.

U.S. Representative Robin Kelly is sponsoring the annual Congressional Art Competition open to high school students residing or attending a school within the Second Congressional District.
The winner will have the opportunity to attend a ceremony this summer in Washington D.C., where his or her artwork will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for one year. The artwork of second- and third-place winners will be displayed in Rep. Kelly’s district offices.

Students can submit their artwork from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rep. Kelly's district office, located at 600 Holiday Plaza Drive, Suite 505, Matteson. The deadline for submissions is April 8 at 4 p.m.
