"In recent days, President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to ‘send in the Feds' to address the ongoing violence in Chicago. These tweets and comments show a complete ignorance to reality. First, ‘sending in the Feds' violates the U.S. Constitution and second, ‘the Feds' are already in Chicago.

Congresswoman Robin Kelly (D-IL) and Members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and Congressional Black Caucus today voiced their objections to Facebook’s “Ethnic Affinity” advertising option that allows housing advertisers to exclude certain ethnic groups in marketing and promotion, in a letter to company CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

In the letter spearheaded by Kelly, legislators argued that Facebook’s policy is in "direct violation of the Fair Housing Act of 1968," since it can limit the audience that sees such ads based on race.

Congresswoman Robin Kelly will host her 4th Annual Hiring Event for residents of the 2nd Congressional District on Friday, October 14, from 9 a.m. to noon, in the gymnasium of South Suburban College, 15800 State St., South Holland. Last year, more than 85 employers with active job openings met more than 400 job seekers.
