Rep. Robin Kelly: House Republicans’ Reckless Behavior Hurts Hardworking Americans

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02) released the following statement after voting against the House Republican’s failed spending bill that would hurt hardworking Americans:

“House Republicans are trying to shove through a debt-limit increase at the eleventh hour to avoid a government shutdown of their own making. They set fire to our bipartisan plan that would have funded the government and helped hardworking Americans, all at the behest of an unelected billionaire. They are currently risking a government shutdown that will hurt millions of Americans, including 9,054 federal workers in the Second District who will be forced to work without pay. This is reckless behavior.”
