Congresswoman Kelly Elected Regional Deputy Whip
CHICAGO – Congresswoman Robin Kelly was recently elected as a Regional Deputy Whip for the upcoming 114th Congress.
Kelly will be responsible for working with House Democratic Leadership to build unity among Congressional Democrats. Her duties will include assisting with strategy, vote counting and the gathering and distribution of information from Democratic leadership to members of Congress from Region IV (which includes Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma). Kelly was elected by her colleagues.
“The families we represent in Congress are looking for commonsense solutions to the problems we’re facing and I’m honored that my colleagues have entrusted me to help lead us in a positive direction toward those solutions,” Kelly said.
Earlier this month, Kelly won her second term in the U.S. House of Representatives with nearly 78 percent of the vote.
