"President Trump's cybersecurity Executive Order is a long-overdue first step, but it needs to be more than words on paper. As the Administration makes these commitments, key cybersecurity positions in the White House and federal agencies, including the Federal CIO, are still vacant.
A House lawmaker wants federal agencies to prioritize cybersecurity when buying internet-connected devices.
For more than a year, Americans, Congress and the world have discussed Russia's attempts to influence our elections. However, some of their most dangerous and well-documented attacks against state-level voting systems have been a mere footnote.

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Robin Kelly, a member of the House Emerging Threats Subcommittee, led a letter, signed by 40 of her colleagues, requesting clarification on the focus and operational capacity of the Department of Justice's Countering Violence Extremism (CVE) program.
Washington, DC – On Friday evening, President Donald Trump issued an unconstitutional executive order banning individuals from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States of America.
Within hours, a federal judge issued a stay against the Executive Order.
"Let me be clear, the President's order is unconstitutional, reckless and un-American. Far from making us safer, this order does the exact opposite," said Congresswoman Robin Kelly. "It's time for Congressional Republicans to get serious and stand up for the Constitution."

"Mr. Speaker, it pains me to come to this Chamber this morning to say that nothing was done as our democracy came under attack.
We know Russia intervened in our presidential election - this was not done in the interest of the people, by the people or for the people of America.
It was done to make America a vehicle for Russian interests.
