Congresswoman Robin Kelly today nominated 11 high school students from her district for admission to United States Military Academies.
“I am proud to support the admission of these exceptional young men and women into our nation’s finest military academies,” Rep. Kelly said. “Their intellect, character and willingness to serve will invigorate our military’s tradition of excellence in leadership.”

Congresswoman Robin Kelly welcomed high school and college students to the Second Annual STEM Symposium at South Suburban College on Friday.
The Symposium encouraged young people to consider a variety of careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, and provided them with an opportunity to connect with other students and display their talents. Presenters included representatives from the fields of astronomy, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, building construction, agriculture, and more.
Congress recently passed legislation which included an amendment offered by Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02) promoting adult literacy and financial literacy in communities across the country. Kelly's proposal ensured that Family Engagement in Education Programs covered under S. 1177, the Every Student Succeeds Act conduct adult and financial literacy in order to engage families and improve academic outcomes for students.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02) voted today to keep college within reach for Illinois students by voting against the so-called Smarter Solutions for Students Act that would force students into loans with skyrocketing interest rates. To commemorate National School Library Month, Congresswoman Robin Kelly delivered 120 books to Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School's library through the Library of Congress' Surplus Book Program and personally congratulated teacher Catherine Ross-Cook on winning a 2019 Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching.
