It's 1843 and your son has a fever. It's been getting worse for days and you know he needs help. So, you get on your horse, pull him up and start riding. After miles and miles, you finally reach the only doctor in the county in a desperate attempt to get care for your child. This story would be exactly the same if it were told in 212 B.C., 873, 1564 and even well into the 1900s.

In 2019, too many patients are still forced to do the same thing. This time, instead of a horse, it might be a car or bus, if you're lucky enough to own one or afford the fare.

Matteson, IL—Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL02) announced today that the Museum of Science and Industry has been awarded a second federal grant for STEM learning. The $98,157 grant will research and identify best practices used by STEM-centered schools to promote STEM equity and diversity.

Last week, the museum received a $1.2 million federal grant that will allow the museum to directly connect students with specific field trip experiences linked to STEM careers.

"Today, the American people had a chance to hear directly from Special Counsel Mueller about the results on his intensive investigation into President Trump.

After reviewing the report and hearing the testimony, the only correct response to the President's actions and abuses is impeachment.

The 2020 Census is nine months away, but U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (D-2nd), facing the all-but-certain loss of one and possibly two Illinois congressional districts, is already working with federal authorities to get the word out about it and ensure everyone gets enumerated.

The census count determines the allocation of U.S. House of Representatives seats and of federal resources, which are distributed proportionally to the measured population. If a state is undercounted, it would receive less representation in Congress and fewer federal resources.

New legislation to address student debt was recently introduced as the Young Farmers Success Act. The bill, HR 3232, was introduced in the House and referred to the House Committee on Education and Labor. Introduced by Rep. Joe Courtney and cosponsored by Reps. Glenn ‘GT' Thompson, Antonio Delgado, Josh Harder, Lee Zeldin, Peter Welch, Robin Kelly, and Chellie Pingree, the bill aims to relieve some of the financial burdens on students pursuing an agricultural career.
