Congresswoman Robin Kelly issued a statement in response to today's Supreme Court ruling that same-sex marriage is legal in all 50 states.

U.S. Congresswoman Robin Kelly (D-IL), chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust, today issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Supreme Court decision in King v. Burwell preserving nationwide tax subsidies under the Affordable Care Act.

Congresswoman Robin Kelly announced today that the City of Kankakee has been awarded a $460,636 Community Development Block Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

"Federal Community Development Block Grant funds have greatly benefited the city by supporting valuable services, better housing, public improvements and economic development," Congresswoman Kelly said. "Over the years, Kankakee has used annual CDBG funding to advance community development and improve the lives of many residents."

Congresswoman Robin Kelly announced today that the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) has awarded grants to the South Holland Public Library and the Steger-South Chicago Heights Public Library to host public programs that highlight the rich history of Latino Americans.

The grants are part of the Latino Americans: 500 Years of History learning project. Each library will receive $3,000 to present the programs.

Congresswoman Robin Kelly announced today that Bloom Township High School District 206 received a $360,000 federal grant to reduce violence through school and mental health counseling programs.

The purpose of the Department of Education Grant is to prevent delinquency and criminal behavior by expanding school counseling programs and increasing access to mental health services for youth exposed to or traumatized by violence, who are suffering from depression or anxiety, or who are failing or having difficulty in school.

Today, U.S. Congresswoman Robin Kelly (D-IL) released the following statement recognizing Paralyzed Veterans of America Awareness Month.

"Every April, we mark Paralyzed Veterans of American Awareness Month to recognize the unique challenges facing service members with spinal cord injury or dysfunction.

Congresswoman Robin Kelly welcomed high school and college students to the Second Annual STEM Symposium at South Suburban College on Friday.

The Symposium encouraged young people to consider a variety of careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, and provided them with an opportunity to connect with other students and display their talents. Presenters included representatives from the fields of astronomy, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, building construction, agriculture, and more.
