Congresswoman Robin Kelly will host a Housing Expo on Saturday, March 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the New Early Learning Center, located at 729 Engle St., in Dolton. Participants will learn about loan modification, foreclosure prevention, down-payment assistance programs, and how to appeal property taxes. Banks and agencies, including Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS), Wells Fargo, Chase, BMO, and more will be on hand to assist homeowners and tenants.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Hesston, Kansas after a shooting rampage yesterday that killed three people and wounded 10 others. This latest incident is yet another reminder that gun violence is the single greatest public health epidemic in America.
Congresswoman Robin Kelly (D-IL) announced today more than $100 million in additional Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) funding for Illinois through the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
The funding will support the Treasury Department’s Hardest Hit Fund program, which allows participating state Housing Finance Agencies to continue assisting struggling homeowners and stabilizing neighborhoods in Illinois’ hardest hit communities. Illinois’ HHF program will receive $118,174,500 in additional funding.
U.S. Representative Robin Kelly is sponsoring the annual Congressional Art Competition open to high school students residing or attending a school within the Second Congressional District.

Congresswoman Robin Kelly today reminds eligible constituents to claim their Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) when filing their tax returns this year. The EITC is a federal tax refund available to millions of low to moderate income individuals and families. The average EITC refund last year was approximately $2,200. Eligible people may qualify for a refund even if they owe no taxes.
Congresswoman Robin Kelly today nominated 11 high school students from her district for admission to United States Military Academies.

Congress recently passed legislation which included an amendment offered by Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02) promoting adult literacy and financial literacy in communities across the country. Kelly's proposal ensured that Family Engagement in Education Programs covered under S. 1177, the Every Student Succeeds Act conduct adult and financial literacy in order to engage families and improve academic outcomes for students.
