Washington, DC - Congresswoman Robin Kelly released this statement on President Trump's plan to issue an unconstitutional "Emergency Declaration:"

"The experts are clear, there is NO crisis at the Southern Border. The only emergencies are the manufactured crises of President Donald Trump. He shut down the government for weeks; he made 800,000 federal workers and their families go without paychecks; and he has repeatedly used border rhetoric to demonize people of color.

This unconstitutional order will immediately be challenged in court and I'm confident that the courts will find this declaration to be unconstitutional and an outright abuse of Presidential power.
