Congresswoman Kelly’s Housing Expo helps constituents achieve and sustain the American Dream of home ownership

March 12, 2018

Congresswoman Robin Kelly hosted a Housing Expo Saturday at Prairie State College that provided resources for distressed homeowners and first-time homebuyers, and information on improving credit, appealing property taxes, and more.

Participants learned about the Hardest Hit Program, the process of obtaining a loan, and tax cuts associated with homebuying. This year, the scope of the Housing Expo was expanded to include information on investment properties for those seeking to purchase and rehabilitate abandoned properties with the goal of returning them to the tax rolls.

"This is my fifth Housing Expo, and it was good to see so many families taking advantages of the great resources we were able to provide. My goal is to help my constituents achieve the American Dream, and that includes saving for a home, buying a home, and maintaining property values," Congresswoman Kelly said.
