Congresswoman Robin Kelly Wins Seats on the Health, Energy & Consumer Protection Subcommittees
Washington, DC - Today, Congresswoman Robin Kelly was appointed to three critical subcommittees of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. Congresswoman Kelly was appointed to the subcommittees on health, energy and consumer protection and commerce.
“I’m deeply grateful to my Energy and Commerce colleagues for showing such faith in me by appointing me to these critical subcommittees,” said Congresswoman Kelly. “I look forward to working with Chairman Pallone and all of my colleagues to advance legislation that improves the health, safety, security and futures of Illinois families.”
As the chair of the Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust, Congresswoman Kelly has worked to protect and expand access to healthcare for American families, especially those in underserved and underrepresented communities. Last Congress, she passed hallmark legislation to increase access to dental and oral health services for Americans, especially seniors, young people and families living in deep urban and rural communities.
Congresswoman Kelly also distinguished herself by authoring multiple bills to improve IT modernization and cybersecurity; she will bring this extensive expertise to the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Commerce, which has jurisdiction over data security, digital privacy and other protection issues.
Congresswoman Kelly stands at the epicenter of health, energy and consumer protection policymaking for this Congress.
