Congresswoman Kelly Tapped for House Committee on Foreign Affairs
Congresswoman Robin Kelly (D-IL) has been tapped to serve on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs for the 114th Congress.
Kelly will sit on the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade as well as the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere.
“It’s an honor to be asked to serve on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs to help address the dynamic challenges we face on the global stage,” Kelly said. “I look forward to working with the Committee to promote human rights, combat human trafficking, defend America from states that threaten our national and cyber security, and foster better economic and trade relationships to create jobs here at home.”
The House Committee on Foreign Affairs, chaired by Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), considers legislation that impacts the diplomatic community, which includes the Department of State, the Agency for International Development (USAID), the Peace Corps, the United Nations, and the enforcement of the Arms Export Control Act.
