Congresswoman Kelly statement on the Death of Kayla Mueller
Congresswoman Robin Kelly, a member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, issued the following statement today on the death of American aid worker Kayla Jean Mueller:
“I’m saddened by the news of Kayla Mueller’s death. Kayla was a remarkable young woman trying to make the world a better place, and she did. Her example reminds us of the good in this world, about the righteousness of service, and about the power of compassion. The crimes of groups like ISIL will never best the indomitable spirit of good and humanity that exists in Kayla and many like her.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Kayla’s family. Her life will continue to inspire and make the world a better place.”
Congresswoman Kelly serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade.
